Preface
This Standard refers to the Codex Stan CAC/GL 09-1987 (amended 1989, 1991) General Principles for the Addition of Essential Nutrients to Foods and CAC/GL 10 – 1979(revised 2008)Advisory Lists of Nutrient Compounds for Use in Foods for Special Dietary Uses for Infants and Young Children of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) as well as No.1925/2006 Regulation on the Addition of Vitamins and Minerals and of certain other Substances to Foods of European Union.
This Standard substitutes the GB 14880-1994 Hygiene Standard for the Nutritional Fortification Substances in Foods. Compared with the GB 14880-1994, this Standard has the following modifications:
——Adding the Terminology and Definition;
——Adding the principles of nutritional fortification, application principles of nutritional fortification substances, and selection principles of fortification carrier;
——Adjusting and integrating the kinds, range and application amount of application of some nutritional fortification substances, and deleting some food categories not fit for fortification;
——Listing lists of sources of permitted compound of nutritional fortification substances;
——Adding lists of sources of compound nutritional fortification substances usable in foods for special dietary uses and the application amount of some nutritional components;
——Adding the Food Category System;
——Deleting the original Appendix A Detailed Rules for The Implementation of the Hygiene Standard of Nutritional Fortification Substances in Foods.
